The Punjab Kings (PBKS) won on Friday at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, defeating the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 54 runs at Tata IPL 2022. Jonny Bairstow and Liam Livingstone smashed PBKS to a massive total of 209 before recording a dominant 54-run victory.
RCB openers Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis responded impressively at the top while chasing 210 to win. After three overs, RCB were 31/0 thanks to Kohli's two fours and a six. Rabada took the opening wicket, catching Kohli at short fine leg. The RCB captain, Faf du Plessis, was taken off only Rishi Dhawan in the next over. After Mahipal Lomror was apprehended inside the circle, RCB were 44/3 at the end of the powerplay. Glenn Maxwell and Rajat Patidar guided RCB's comeback and formed an important relationship. Patidar smashed two sixes while Maxwell created runs with his characteristic switch hit.
